Fear

Silhouette fate, your victim; who dies ten-thousand times before his death. Y ou, I've known for millennium; the being in dryad. Chameleon prospect To maneuvering, gaining entrance through, with humility. Victims' void of yo ur potency, until you render' redundant; Able bones, strong hearted and original souls, to their copies. Their very shadows that make no difference On surface, than efface. Fear ; staunch enemy of Will*. Your art of corruption is so great That you turn adventurous mind to return home, with Grotesque and distorted expression wearing face. Despair; paranoia; palsy and pessimism, appall the dream of ambitious minds. You are no less fiery, than the arson that corrupts, With its tongue, une-belle-maison* . You dastardize the courage of who you haunt; Pervasion of skeptic thought, hunt-them-to-tomb. The child that's hoped as the father for the man Is cut off the point of hope; for your fiery tongue, consumes his gut; Obsessed! like th...

HEAVEN HELPS, BUT JUST WHO HELP THEMSELVES: THE PERISCOPE OF THE HOLY QUR'AN

Surah Ar-Rad, Verse 11: لَهُ مُعَقِّبَاتٌ مِّن بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِ يَحْفَظُونَهُ مِنْ أَمْرِ اللَّهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُغَيِّرُ مَا بِقَوْمٍ حَتَّىٰ يُغَيِّرُوا مَا بِأَنفُسِهِمْ وَإِذَا أَرَادَ اللَّهُ بِقَوْمٍ سُوءًا فَلَا مَرَدَّ لَهُ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن دُونِهِ مِن وَالٍ “For each one are successive [angels] before and behind him who protect him by the decree of Allah. Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves. And when Allah intends for a people ill, there is no repelling it. And there is not for them besides Him any patron.” This is gonna be for the fun of it, pals. To start with, the motif of this ayah(verse) does not actually centre on one theme because it discusses some other salient messages. Without playing down the relevance of other parts of the verse, a bit explanation would be done on them. But then, the subject of this article lies here —"Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until t...

Who is Deceiving Who (II): Fury Pen?

For the umpteenth time, Nigeria has been represented in the profile of this famous theatre of the absurdists. Wherein, a grave tragedy that betides any character now, however massive, means no shock instead a precursor to the graver calamities to come. By inference, the reality in the theatre is the analogy of what happens in the illusional giant of Africa. In converse, the bad governance seen in the periodic switch of power at a time, which possibly bedeviled the country, often times, becomes a desired point of preference for people during the maladministration of the subsequent government. In a regular sequence, we move from mere hunger to starvation, political crisis to socio-economic tumult, promises to disillusionment, hopelessness to despair, unemployment to economic meltdown, ethnic crisis down to sanctimonious war, marginalization, corruption, human trafficking and terrorism. All of which are but narratives in Nigeria context. Typically, Nigeria is a replica of what happen...

Who Is Deceiving Who?

'... After having prepared this breakfast for my family, I'm left with just twenty five naira... If government has anything to do for us, they should on time.'(a caller's voice on Super 96.3fm some days past). If to take on the extreme remarks from people which I have purposely put in the rear view, we would aver that It is certainly no more news that hun Who Is Deceiving Who? ger kills, in contrary to the sentiments of the Nigerian leaders who purportedly assume that ko si oku ebi ni ori aatan(there is no such thing as hunger kills on the refuse), perhaps, they have no idea about the state of malady of their people. They no less believe they have provided

enough for the governed Who Is Deceiving Who?. Whereas, the metaphor of what is said is the question of concern. As a member of the vulnerable, my parents are one for hyperbole, I stand to give a purview of the pains of the people. For days in Ogun, our individual ears are...

CIPM ESSAY: PEOPLE RISK MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES IN AN ERA OF CRISIS

INTRODUCTION How truthful is the statement of Hippocrates, the ancient Greek physician, that "extremis malis extrema remedia"? Literally, for extreme diseases, extreme methods of cure, as to restriction, are most suitable[1]. Today, this establishes the fact that desperate times call for desperate measures. As a medical expert in Greek mythology, he delved into the hearts of many complicated medic related crises in his time. And the truth, he came up with his informed conclusion that actions that might seem extreme under normal circumstances are appropriate during adversity. To strike nothing but balance, I suppose. Could we possibly rationalize such adversity in an era where technology and science seem to have reached their perfect altitudes and reliance for humanity? No less, what could have informed such desperation in the 21st-century global markets? Crisis! Definitely, this is the force that stimulates both human and his institutions into a stamped...
