THE ILLUSION OF THE MIGHTY PEN
The pen had, and has ever been mightier. That the pen is mighty is both attested to in space and time. But, what could have prompted us to the hazy argument that pen is mightier than the s word? Of what s t ren gth has a p last ic-made item to be conside red superior to a metallic object? Perhaps, the fact behind it is metaphysical. But then , we cannot underestimate t he personages of Agamemnon, Odysseus and Achilles for their uncanny dexterity in sword-handling in t he Trojan W ar. History has it i ndelibly written that the trio brought a remarkable fame to the ancient Greek with th eir mighty swords. The sword , a property of the knights and heroes, has brought to many lands triumphs a nd honours . W he re w as pen at th a t time, when Per seus decapit ated Medusa – the lethal beast of the Greek land? Where was the pen, when the only resistanc e to oppression is the sword ; when the innocent lives were ceased unt imely by the ruthless oppressor? I coul d count many battles...
